Dr. B Narsaiah Profile

Dr. B. Narsaiah did his MBBS, MS from Osmania Medical College,Hyderabad in 1983 with First division and Distinctions in 4 subjects. He did his M S in General Surgery from Osmania Medical College followed by specialisation in Laparoscopic surgery.

He is one of pioneer in laparoscopic surgery in India and did more than 32,000 procedures to his credit. He is a Teacher, Academician, Trainer in laparoscopy, writer, painter and social worker and politician.

  • Establish Hyderabad Institute of laparoendoscopic surgery and brought advanced laparoscopy within reach of common man.
  • Conducted may works shops, conference, presented papers across national and international conferences.
  • General Secretary ASI. AMASI, HSI and members of SAGES, OSSI etc
  • As secretary increased ASI funds from 4 lakhs to 24 lakhs
  • Conducted historical AMASICON – saved money and invested in AMASI Telangana first time in history
  • ASICON – patron chairman: first time more than one crore saved from conference and invested in ASI Telangana (never in history of association of surgeons of India saved money)

Service in Osmania general hospital 1991 -1995

  • Worked as assistant Professor of surgery.
  • Renovated operation theatre with donations.
  • Tried best to improve the hospital services.
  • Resigned from service in 1995

Services in rural area 1987 -90

  • Posted and worked as Civil assistant surgeon at Amanagal PHC in combined Mahabubnagar District.
  • Did more than 8000 tubectomies
  • Extraordinary and critical surgical procedures at PHC Amanagal with little facilities
  • Got best surgeon award and special appreciation award from health ministry of GOI for extraordinary work like tubal recanalizations.

Childhood 1959 -64

  • Born at Suryapet – Parents late Boora laxmaiah goud, Rajamma hardworking middle class farmer family
  • Father known for hard work, honesty and mother for the grit and determination

School education : 1964 -74

  • School education in AVM school and government high school in Suryapet

Intermediate 1974 – 76

  • Government junior college. Passed in first division in BPC.
  • Teaching was passion and used to take classes for classmates and juniors from student days .
  • Got MBBS seat in first attempt at Osmania medical college

Medical education 1976 – 86

  • Studied at Osmania medical college.
  • Passed MBBS in first division with distinctions in 4 subjects
  • Passed MS in general surgery first division
  • Passion of teaching continued and recognised as good surgeon as post graduate only

Student leadership

  • Class representative in MBBS • AP junior doctors president
  • Successfully got junior doctors stipend raised by leading 23 days junior doctors strike.
  • Fought court cases to get jobs to more than 200 PGs as civil assistant surgeon
  • Furnished PG hostel with all facilities with funds raised

Social work 2005 onwards

  • BLR foundation (Boora Laxmaiah Rajamma foundation) did many free camps, laparoscopic camps in rural areas.

  • Probably only surgeon whose experience extends from general surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, gynec surgery, cancer surgery, paediatric surgery, thoracic surgery and bariatric and diabetic surgery.
  • Pioneer surgeon in the field of laparoscopy since 1989 in basic laparoscopy and 1992 in advanced laparoscopic surgery in state of Andhra Pradesh and India.
